ANNUAL REPORT 2018-2019

INTRODUCTION:

“ Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” Is the only words that reverberating in our minds during the arduous journey of getting Affiliated. The constant effort and handwork in pursuing NCERT to be a CBSE school took us a new leap forward obtaining NOC and recognition from the state of Tamil Nadu. Thus, making this year an eventful year in the history of Montfort School (CBSE), Manapparai. With that significant and happy note I Rev. Bro. Amal Amad, Principal of Montfort School (CBSE) proudly present the Annual Report of this academic year 2018 and 2019.

REOPEN FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR

On 16th April 2018, school begin for the academic year 2018 -2019 from UKG to Grade VII. The students were warmly welcomed by the teachers. Special Assembly was conducted by Grade VII Students. The Students were happy as they have promoted to the next Grade. After lighting the lamp Bro. Amal Amad addressed and rekindled the students thoughts by his interactive speech.

PRIZE DAY

The Prize day for the academic year 2017-2018 was held on 19th of April 2018 in the Montfort hall. The ceremony began with the recitation of holy bible followed by the prayer song. The students of grade 6 and 7 have performed a welcome dance and western Dance which was specially choreographed for the occasion. Certificates, Medals and special awards for the academic year 2017-2018 were distributed to the students. On that special day Chief Guest Rev. Bro. Soosairaj, The Principal of Montfort School ,Kattur gave an impressive speech. He encouraged the students to be brave and hard working. He also spoke a few words about how to spend the holidays in a useful way. It was very helpful for the students. The event concluded with the vote of thanks.

SCHOOL REOPEN

The Montfort School CBSE reopened on 1st June 2018, and the students entered the schooling phase of their lives with much hope and aspiration to service again after long and rejuvenating summer break. The academic year 2018 – 2019 began with 280 students and 20 teachers from kinder garden to grade 7. The school held a special assembly in order to welcome the children. The assembly accelerated the whole atmosphere. The Principal Bro. Amal Amad addressed the students and motivated them for a happy prosperous and successful year ahead. The students looked charming with their new friends and were seen exchanging pleasantries with their classmates.

FIELD TRIP

First Field trip for the academic year 2018 - 2019 was taken out on 23rd of June. The students of grade 4 to 7 were exuberant as they were on their way to the unknown place with their friends and teachers. First we have visited kadavur Jamindar K.K.G Muthaiah palace and then we went to ISS, (Inba seva sangam ) a local herbal garden . In ISS we saw more than 260 local medicinal plants. Our students had a chance to explore the garden by learn the name and uses of the plants. Later students had a special time to interact with Mr. Sekar the guide to know more about heres. Soon after the lunch we reached Ponaniyar dam. Our students have enjoyed trekking around the place. They made a pit stop over there and they admired scenery with the teachers and took photos and had fun.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

" Leaders Are Not Born But Are Made By Their Experience In Life." The Investiture ceremony was held on 27th June 2018, in the Montfort hall. Mr. Kennedy, Inspector of Police law and order, F1 Station, Manapparai was the chief guest of the day. The function was presided over by Rev. Bro. Ganapragasam, The director of our school and Rev. Bro.Amal Amad , The Correspondent , Rev. Bro. Stephen Bursar , Rev. Bro. Justin Principal of St. John's ITI and Rev. Bro. Suresh vice Principal of St.John's ITI were also present on the occasion. Mr. Kennedy , the chief guest of the day gave the badges and sashes to the SPL, ASPL house captains and Vice Captains of four House and then administered the Oath to the students Rev. Bro. Ganapragasam, The Director of our school gave the badges and administered the class captains and vice captains. The chief guest Mr. Kennedy in his address appreciated the School activities and he congratulated the captains for their preparedness to take responsibilities and cautioned them against allowing such responsibilities hinder their academics. Rev.Bro. Amal Amad, The Correspondent of our School encouraged the captains by his inspirational story. It ignited the students mind to be more responsible in their duty. At last the programme was concluded by singing the National Anthem.

TABLE TENNIS COURT OPENING CEREMONY

On 16th august 2018 the new table tennis court was inaugurated in our school by Rev. Bro. Amal Amad, The Principal of Montfort School (CBSE) and Mr. Sugumaran, Southern Railway Trichy. They inaugurated and played a hand in hand. Table Tennis players from Campion School, Trichy had participated in the opening ceremony and then they played matches. They were cheered by the students present in the hall.

SPORTS DAY

The 2nd Annual sports day of Montfort School (CBSE) was celebrated on 12th September 2018 amidst great mirth, verve and camaraderie Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan, Editor of Netrikann Magazine was the chief guest of the day Mr. C. Rajesh, International cycler was the Guest of honour . The school sports activities was entailed by the unfurling of the school flag and the declaration of the meet open by the chief guest, making the commencement of the ceremony followed by the lighting of the flame by the students to make the expression of Joy and rejoicement.
The chief Guest was escorted by the principal for the inspection of the school appointments and the 4 house contingents. Thereafter, the chief guest administered oath to the school appointments. The most intriguing aspect, embellishing the event was the splendid house displays, involving all the house students which splattered on the field. The displays included presentation “ Go Green” by the Gabriel house , “ Humanity still Exists” by the John House , “ Happy Home” by the Montfort House and “ Ugly Angels” by the Xavier house. This was followed by the track events including 100mts dash and 4 x 100 mts relay for both boys and girls from grade 1 to grade 7. The chief guest Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan in his address he praised the march past and house display done by the students. He lauded the energy zest and vitality of students presenting the field displays. He opined that the sports day is a very important part of education because it marks students disciplined.
Mass drill display was presented by grade 1 to grade 7 students. After this medals and certificates were distributed to the students. Overall trophy waswon by the Gabriel house students 1st runner up trophy holded by the John house students and 2nd runner up trophy holded by the Montfort house students. The meet saw it culmination with the national anthem.

PARENTS TEACHERS MEET

The first parents teachers meeting was organized on 8th November 2018 from 10 a.m to 12.30 p.m . On that day special seminar was given for the parents from the school management. The seminar was started with the formal prayer and welcome address. The chief guest for the seminar was Rev.Fr. Staney , Counsellor and psychiatrist from Chennai who has briefed the gathering and also explained about the do’s and don’t its of Parenting, reality of today’s parents and the mentality of today’s children. This seminar was helpful for the parents.
After the seminar, the teachers apprised the parents about their kids performance during first term. Together they identified the areas of strength and weakness of the child and sorted out ways to boost the child’s performance. The meeting helped to create better understanding between parents and teachers and built harmonious relationship between the school and the community.

ASSISTANTS GENERAL VISIT

Assistants general Rev. Bro.. Jean Paul Mbengue from Senegal and Rev. Bro. James T.K with Bro. Timothy from Trichy Provincial house have visited our school on 5th December, 2018. They addressed the gathering and motivated the students to make the teachers and school to feel Proud of them. They also motivated the teachers to be kind and mould the students live in a better manner. They also gave some points to the teachers about how to handle the kids mind. It was very helpful for the teachers.

346TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF ST. MONTFORT

"Every Birthday ends with sweet cake and memories” On 31st January 2019. Yet another funfilled day in Montfort School Were celebrated the birthday of St. Montfort the great preacher. It was a day of great pomp and joy for all Montfortians. The chief guest for this celebration was Rev. Bro.Dr. Cyriac.
He graciously addressed the gathering and elicit the inner feelings of joy from the students through his valid speech. The celebration packed with full of dance and music. The students performed a skit on Montfort Virtues. On our Patron’s Birthday, the students have been appreciated and encouraged by giving away the merit certificate to the winners for Participating in various competition like Handwriting, Elocution , dance , Fancy dress and drawing Rev. Bro. Cyriac and Rev. Bro. Suresh hand over the certificates to the winners. Rev. Bro. Amal Amad addressed the gathering and appreciated the students for their efforts, Joy filled day ends with a sweet cake.

BRITHDAY CELEBRATION OF BRO. AMAL AMAD

Age is just a number to embark on a new journey. The School Celebrated the birthday of Rev. Bro. Amal Amad, the Principal of Montfort School (CBSE ) on august 16th 2018. This day was a joyful occasion where the whole school came together to greet and wish the Principal. Students were performed dances and they recited a poem about Brother. Class representatives gave greeting cards which they have prepared by themselves and wish brother on behalf of their class mates It made the day a memorable one. The Principal addressed the students about his happiness and he told them to work together as one family by helping one another. With this note everybody left with smile and cake for thought.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence day is an annual observance celebrated every year on 15th august. This year we celebrated the 72nd independence day on 15th august 2018 at Wednesday in our school to pay tribute and to remember all the freedom fighters who had contributed a lot and fought for the independence of India. The Principal Bro. Amal Amad was the Chief Guest of the programme. He hoisted the national flag at 9.15a.m All the students and teachers saluted the flag and sang flag song and national anthem.
The students have presented patriotic speech and group dance. Rev. Bro. Amal Amad , The Principal of Montfort School (CBSE) delivered a short speech. He told the students about the supreme sacrifice of the great martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of freedom. He also said that the freedom was very precious and it was necessary to preserve it. In the end of the ceremony, chocolates were distributed among the students.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Our school commemorated teacher’s day with zeal and zest on September 5th 2018. The chief guest for this enthusiastic celebration was Dr. Dhilip, M.S., Surgeon GKM Hospital, Manapparai. The grade 5 students took over the assembly and they led the function. The excitement of the students were quite contagious. Chief Guest addressed the gathering and told the sincerest effort taken by the teachers in playing a catalytic role in the holistic development of every student’s life. Addressing the teachers on the occasion, Rev. Bro. Amal Amad, The Principal Montfort School (CBSE) extolled the role of teachers in a student’s life and he said the reason for celebrating teacher’s day on Dr. Radhakrishnan’s birthday.

CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION

We observed children’s day in the school premises with lot of fanfare, zeal and fervour. Rev. Bro. Amal Amad and chacha Nehru was the Chief Guest for the function. Teachers entertained the students by performing songs, dance and stand up comedy act. All the performances were enjoyed by the students and drew up loud applause from them . Speaking on the occasion Rev. Bro. Amal Amad said that his desire to see children without losing their innocence. Chacha Nehru addressed the students and wished them to be happy at all time. Sweets were distributed to the students at the end of the function.

CHRISTMAS DAY CELEBRATION

Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. Soaking in the spirit of Christmas the tiny tots of grade 3 and grade 4 of our school celebrated the festival on 15th December 2018 with gaiety. The chief guest for this joyest celebration was Mrs. Shanthi, The founder and Secretary of Jeevan group of institutions and Rev. Bro. Justin, The Principal of St. Johns ITI Manjampatty. The entire campus was festooned with melodious Christmas carols. Nativity skit on the birth of jesus Christ and a santa with chocolates and balloons. The spree of the celebration came to end with a delicious cake pieces.

PONGAL CELEBRATION

Pride and festive cheer marked the Thai pongal celebration held on 12th January 2019 at our school. The Students of grade 2 organized a Plethora of Programmes for the entertainment of students. The programme commenced with prayer and Bible reading . They Gracefully performed Bharathanatiyam , and folk dance which added excitement among the students, A short skit was done to explain the customs followed during pongal. At this happy celebration, the very presence of the correspondent Rev.Bro. Amal Amad was overwhelming. He encouraged everyone to know the significance of pongal, imbibe adhere and uphold the traditional values. Finally, Teachers Prepared sweet pongal and served to the students which evoked the message of love and build the relationship with their elders. Students learnt that this festival is sacred moment that helps everyone to establish love, unity and nourish their relationships.

70th Republic day celebrated on 26th January 2019, at Saturday . It was celebrated with great pride to honour the constitutuion of India. The chief guest was Rev. Bro. Amal Amad. He unfurled the national flag and addressed the gathering. In his speech he emphasized why are we celebrating Republic day. and its importance.

SEMINAR

Teachers are at the heart of all school activities and their role on the self-esteem of a child is undeniable. Thus to prepare the ground for their teaching skills two days seminar has been arranged for the teachers in Montfort School Kattur, On 30th May 2018 for the teachers from KG to grade 8 at Montfort School , Kattur, Trichy. The seminar topic was based on learning disabilities. The seminar was handled by.Rev. Bro. Yuju Francis, s.g. psychological counseller, psychotherapist, group facilitator and trainer for students and teachers. An brief interpretation about learning techniques and difficulties in learning were given. He interacted with the teachers and answered for their queries and kept the session more interactive . He gave useful insignts in this session. The afternoon session comprised of the psychological nature of students and the classroom strategies for improving comprehension, math problems and the strategies to handle and improve ADHD students. On 7th March 2019, Mrs. Linda from Montfort School, Kattur Conducted the workshop. The workshop aimed at helping to teachers understand and appreciate diversity in children and accept their shortcomings most positively.

Our Champion Miss. Sangamithirai of Grade 6 has Participated in Manavai Marathan 2018 held in Thiyagesar Alai Hr.Sec.School by Dr. A.P.J Memorial Club on September 2, 2018. She has won the trophy seizing first place in 3km marathon and was honoured by the chief guest of the day Dr. C Sailandira Babu, IPS, ADGP –railway [GRP].

The School has raised the prestigious trophy from Tamil Nadu student Games Association on 27th October when our Skatting Champion Miss. Sudhiksha of Grade 4 won Gold and Silver medal in the state level skatting competition held in Namakal. In addition Miss. Harishmitha of grade 7 kept her spirits high when she came as a runner –up in state level skating championship held in Perambalur by Perambalur Roller Skatting Association. It was a proud moment for us when Miss. Sarah od grade 1 , Miss. Miruthula karthikeyan of Grade 1, Miss. Miruthika Shree of Grade 1, Master P.V. Hare of Grade 2 bagged several Gold , Silver , Bronze medals and trophies in various district level skating championship in and around the city.

We are proud to acknowledge the winners Master Inba of grade one, Master Nirmal Antony of grade 3, Master Abdul Hameed of grade 4 and Miss Yuva shree of grade 6 along with eleven other champs of our school who took part in Tamil literary contest held in Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School in Manapparai on 27th January 2019 by Manavai Tamil Sangam to commemorate Pongal Celebration on 2050th Thiruvalluvar year.

The School has lifted the prestigious District kiddies sports club medals held in Trichy Anna stadium on 8th and 9th of February this year by The district Kiddees sports development the association which brought laurel by the Gold medal winner J. Oliva of Grade 4 under 100 m and 200 m dash and Bronze holder Merlin Mary of Grade 5 in 100 m dash. The champions of Grade 4 badged second place while Grade 5 Champions badged third place in 4 x 100 meter Relay.

Our tiny talent Miss Sathana sri of Grade 1 has won a cash prize of Rs. 2000 in fancy dress, competition held in vidiyal Matric, Hr.Sec.School.
